My Yoga Story

I found yoga (or maybe yoga found me?) back in 2016, and something just made sense, something fit into place like it always belonged there - like a long lost puzzle piece.

One of the photos on this page shows my youngest daughter and me, practicing yoga together, and that was the very beginning of my yoga journey!

When I lived in Colorado Springs, CO, I attended regular yoga classes and was truly inspired by the instructor and knew this was something that I needed in my life. I was going through some big life changes at that time, it was quite a turbulent season for me… and yoga helped me through some pretty tough moments.

After having practiced yoga for quite some time, I felt a strong desire to share this wonderful gift - to inspire others, to help them maybe get through tough times in their lives, to elevate them, to share the tools that I have learned that can make such a huge difference in life. With encouragement from others around me, who have helped support me along the way - I found the courage to take the first step, and I enrolled in the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and obtained my certification in the Fall of 2025.

From that point forward, I have been teaching yoga to the Wounded Warrior Project group here in Oklahoma City (which is a closed group, only for Military Veterans), as well as sessions at Stonecloud Brewing Co in Oklahoma City (which is open to the public).

My classes focus on sequences that are created thoughtfully, each with an intention, with an overall beginner friendly and playful vibe, but also with options for more advanced students to expand their practice.
My hope is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can breathe deep, move with intention, and connect with a caring community. To meet you exactly where you are, offering clear guidance, gentle encouragement, and the kind of mindful practices that travel with you long after class ends. Whether your goal is flexibility, stress relief, or simply some quiet time for self care, I’m here to help you find what you need.

One of the reasons why I chose Lovely Lotus for my business logo - is the meaning behind a lotus flower, that it can rise from the mud, up out of the water and be lovely and beautiful. Just as we are able to rise up, no matter what has happened in our lives, and be amazing and let our true self shine. Also knowing that without the mud there can be no lotus flower - as in life there are the messy parts and the beautiful parts, and we have the honor to experience and feel it all - the good and the bad.

Listed below are some of my current certifications/credentials:
